What to expect from treatment

At the initial consultation I will conduct a detailed assessment to obtain a thorough understanding of your concerns, goals, and expectations. I will then develop a flexible treatment plan to meet your specific needs.

All individual treatment sessions are 50 minutes.

The length of treatment will be different for everyone. Generally, 6-10 sessions is appropriate for a more straight forward problem that involves learning some strategies. For more complex problems, a longer commitment may be required to understand underlying core issues, and then change behavioural patterns that maintain these issues. We will discuss your needs and timeframes in the initial consultation, and then on an ongoing basis during your treatment.

Referrals

Many of my clients are referred by their GP or another health professional, but you do not need a referral to see me.

I am a registered provider of psychological services under Medicare. If you have been referred by either your GP or Psychiatrist under the Better Access Initiative, you may be eligible for a rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. This will give you a rebate of $129.55 per session.

Your private health insurance fund may also provide rebates for psychological services. Please contact them directly to enquire.

Payment for your 50 min consultation is to be made on the day of service.
